1. Ozz @ Ed's at Leisure Bowl said on 7/21/12 - 04:36PM
So I started my evening out at Ed's Pub, where I had 2 main missions. It was Sandi McDaniels Birthday, so of course I had to sing Happy Birthday Crazy Train to her, and I also had to award the winner for the Who Is Ozz trivia game, which was a tie between Sandi & Milli. So, they split $50 in cash....I had an awesome green chilli cheeseburger and I gotta say Kevin behind the bar was on top of it. I still gotta bitch a little about the sound but it ain't bad, and the crowd was definatly there to have a good time. Elizabeth has been doing this a long time and you can tell. Even though they are not into teh computer aged system, she knows her selection and does well with it. Thanks Elizabeth for accomidating me...see you on August 9th.
2. Ozz @ Fiesta's said on 7/21/12 - 04:40PM
After Ed's I was off to do the Sing N Win raffle at Fiesta's where it was pretty busy, all the regulars were there and then some. Toby is nut, that's all I gotta say, but he brings the energy in like no one else can. I am not sure what was up with the server that night, but it wasn't great...maybe she was just busy....the crowd was having a blast and very responsive...when you come to Fiesta's be prepared to let your hair down and meet alot of new freinds, they welcome everyone with open arms.
3. Ozz @ The Brio on Saturday said on 7/24/12 - 05:24PM
So I haven't been to the Brio in a while. (That's the Park Inn-Radison Water Park) I will only go a Saturday night. They had a new KJ there her name was Maria, not only was she cute, she did great, especially since it was her first night. The service was good, the sound was good and the crowd was good. It was fairly busy. Boop is the karaoke company there, they still use books and slips but do have a good selection.
4. Ozz @ Grahams on Saturday said on 7/24/12 - 05:27PM
I got to Grahams about 11:30. There were quite a few people hanging out in the karaoke bar. They still have the same book, songs and selections from way back when, but they do have enough to choose from. The bartender was good, the crowd was good, the sound is real good and Sarah the KJ is a little firecracker! She is full of energy and really puts her heart and soul into this. Looking forward to doing the Random Member Sing N Win drawing there in August 17th.
5. Ozz @ Evolution on Sunday 7/22/12 said on 7/31/12 - 01:04PM
So after a day of Cliffs and Movies with my youngest daughter, we went to Evolution to cap the night off....cuz they are kid friendly dontcha know! She had the time of her life. I really have no complaints at all, the sound was awesome, of course Lenore has such a passion, Robbie does make a great server lol, and the crowd is a very regular group, that can really, really sing and actually know how to clap. This is definatly the place to be on a Sunday eve.
6. Ozz @ The Soch on 7/24/12 said on 7/31/12 - 04:41PM
So I popped in about 11ish....it was pretty darn busy, the crowd was peppy as usuall, and I met Sandi (Disconanny) there, she was cool and bought me a beer! Kammo was behind the soundboard, I love the fact that he knows what is doing...sang Black Dog and War Pigs, it sounded fantastic...and Joe is really an awesome bartender. When you go there, because it is a private club, just sign in under Kammo. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-1.
7. Ozz @ Coaches on Wednesday 7/25 said on 7/31/12 - 06:06PM
So I went to Coaches early so I could eat....I had a breaded chicken breast in marinare sauce with swiss cheese...mmmmm good, the bartender waitress was great, my normal one was playing manager that night. It was slow at least early on, I had to leave about 10, hoping to come back but didn't get to. Tobyriffic was Toby as he always is. Wednesday nights from 9-1.
8. Ozz @ Maloney's on Wednesday 7/25 said on 7/31/12 - 06:08PM
It was a madhouse! They had 3 b-day parties, but I will say, with only 3 behind the bar and 3 servers that I saw, they had it handled. Kammo kept his cool and kept it rockin, I LOVE THE SOUND at Maloneys....I would say it's in the top 3 for Albuquerque. Typically a late college crowd.
9. Ozz @ Knuckleheads on Thursday 7/28 said on 8/1/12 - 09:27AM
So after my rehearsal at Evolution for Teenie Preemies I was absolutly starving! So the first thing I wanted when I arrived was food! Jason B was there and eating a fish sandwich and it looked so good I had to have one. I waited and watched the waitress pass by at least 10 times. Finally I flagged her down and ordered my food. Then my food arrived, she dropped it off and speed off before I could tell her I needed some water. Finally I flagged her down again, got my water. After I finished eating (which by the way, it was the best fish sandwich I have had in a long time)....I was ready for a beer. She passed by at least 10 times, finally I went to the bar and got a beer. No she did not get a tip. But actually I guess I was there for karaoke anyway. So Fito has made some improvements there, he moved the stage to the other side and worked on his sound. It was way better. I love the lights and the fog that he throws in there as well. Great job Fito, see you soon!
10. Ozz @ The Damn Bar on Thursday 7/26 said on 8/1/12 - 09:31AM
So then I made my journey to The Damn Bar in Rio Rancho. This bar sits just North of Southern on Unser. Up on top of the hill, the view is absolutly amazing. Normally it's not very busy, but tonight they had a B-Day party, there were alot of people but not alot of singers which made it kind of nice. They get a little rowdy and have a good time here so get ready....Someone sang 3 of my songs, it was crazy, It's Yor Love, Sweet Child O Mine and Crazy Train, but as you know I got plenty more. Big Wormm is behind the soundboard and he is very cool and will accomidate. They do not have service, it's bar service but they are fast and friendly.
11. Ozz @ Dublin Street in Thursday 8/2/12 said on 8/4/12 - 11:53AM
Walked in, sat down, had a waitress in a few minutes. Noticed Andrew was not around, it was a new female face...very pretty very nice...turned in our songs, watched a few others sing...noticed the sound was not the same as when Andrew was there...I think it may have been her first night. I sang Sister Christian and we left. I think with a little more practice she could be a great KJ. See you in about a month!
12. Ozz @ The Soch on Thursday 8/2/12 said on 8/4/12 - 11:55AM
So we were supposed to go from Dublin Street to Retro...we decided to stop at The Soch to meet a freind, sing one song and go....well, that didn't happen. The atmoshpere was great, the sound was amazing, and Joe the bartender was on top of it.....stayed till they closed.
13. Ozz @ Hollywood Casino on Friday 8/3 said on 8/6/12 - 12:31PM
It was that time of the month again to open up the 40 foot stage and turn the spot lights on. As usual the sound was great, and so was the frito pie in the little restaurant just outside the door. They have a cash bar in the auditorium which only has beers and margerita's and you cannot brings drinks from the lounge in, that's my only complaint. Howling Coyote hosts this show once a month, the next one is August 31st, and there is a party bus available, check out the ad above for more information.
14. Ozz Covering for Tommy @ Louie's 8/4 said on 8/6/12 - 01:38PM
Wow, what a rockin night it was. We got our first singer up about 9:16 and it was non stop from that moment forward, we peaked at 30 singers and over booked and went into overtime but it was well worth it. The girls kept everyone hydrated and I got to enjoy my meatloaf. It's fun to KJ but I will always remain a singer and your trusted source for karaoke information in the city.
15. Ozz at Sandia Casino on Monday 8/6 said on 8/7/12 - 04:54PM
So Laticia and I started our night at Sandia Casino, if you wanna sing you really need to get there and in by 9, the first rotation is usually about 10 and then it quickly grows. I thought it was me but everyone I have talked to also say it's very hard to sing there because of the monitors not being set properly, all you hear is yourself, not the music so it's like shooting in the dark an dhoping you hit something. I sang It's Your Love then Crazy Train, the crowd response was good. I like the stage, the lights, the sound and always has a large responsive audience. They usually only have one waitress and 2 bartenders, I usually just go to the bar. Sandia is a good place to go on Monday's and Tuesday's.
16. Ozz @ Blackbird on Monday 8/6 said on 8/7/12 - 04:59PM
One of my favs for sure. KJ Potato is a master at the sound in this place. He knows how to make it sound just right. I sang Fairies Wears Boots and Black Dog, it was amazing. You have to get here early if you want to sing more than once, there is always at least a 25 person rotation by the second one, that's because it's a great place, the crowd is younger college, so it's like they're still waking up till about 11....then they let thier hair down and you know it! You will hear all kinds of songs, and they appreciate anything, James is a great bartender, don't know about the waitress. MOnday nights.
17. Ozz @ Spectators on Tuesday said on 8/8/12 - 04:18PM
So I started my tripleheader last night at Spectators, where Telles has been forever. They had the kickball league in for there regular gathering...these guys are a kick, they do get into it. I think Telles said this was the last one for a while though. I ate at the bar, cuz they were way to busy in the karaoke room. Besides them it wasn't real busy. The selection is a little limited but he does have what I sing and the sound is good but a little flat for me, I do need echo for my songs, but is fine for everyone there having a great time. He is there on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and it is kid friendly till 11pm.
18. Ozz @ Barley Room said on 8/8/12 - 04:21PM
was stop #2 on my triple header night. It was the busiest Tuesday I have seen in a while. There were like 5 tables full and some friends I haven't seen in a while. They have cleaned house and just the attitude and atmosphere was a million times better. We had great service. I did not eat so I couldn't tell you how that was. The sound was amazing (of course that's what happens with Potato). If they keep this up I think they could definatly rebound. Every Tuesday and Wednesday night.
19. Ozz @ Geckos.... said on 8/8/12 - 04:25PM
was my 3rd and final stop for the night. I didn't get there till after midnight and they were pretty much winding down. Got served almost right away, so that was good, they were slow, may have been how late it was or the fact that Kiss and Motley Crue were rocking out. The sound is good and the song selection is limited, but works for this nieghboorhood hang out. Very regular regulars.....Every Tuesday night, Zero is the KJ.
20. Ozz-Additional Update on Specs and Geckos... said on 8/9/12 - 10:04AM
After chatting with Teles last night, it turns out that the kickball team has him there to do karaoke for their private parties, so that will be the last one at Spectators, they will let him know where they are going to next. On Geckos, Zero has the entire same song selection as what Teles has, you just need to request your favorite version in order to make sure he plays the one you want. I am personally not a big fan of chartbuster.
21. Ozz @ Sunset Grill on Wednesday.... said on 8/9/12 - 04:55PM
So I started my triple header for the second night in a row at Sunset Grill with Charles. In case you have not read my bio page, Charles is how this all began. My second wife and I used to go to the Brio every weekend to practice our wedding song, It's Your Love and Charles was the KJ. So when I go here it brings back memories. It's never really to busy here, there were about 12 singers, and the sound is great, Charles is kinda laid back so you gotta just go with it. Very regular crowd..Serice is always very prompt.
22. Ozz @ Post 99 on Wednesday said on 8/9/12 - 04:57PM
...so stop #2 was Post 99. It was pretty slow, usually it's busy as hell. But that was ok, cuz I was only there to sing a song and pick up that beautiful woman Laticia. So I sang Take It Easy, laughed my ass off at Teles (about Funny Face) and off and at 'em I was. Had a great time.
23. Ozz @ Coaches on Wednesday... said on 8/9/12 - 05:00PM
Popped in about 11.....they were swamped. Mostly from a large group in the middle of the bar. They were pretty receptive and Toby is a nut....nuff said! He is quite the show let me tell ya. Had some killer fries! And the bartender there is a doll, I think her name is Diane...(I hope so)....every Wednesday night!
24. Ozz @ Evolution Contest on Friday 8/10 said on 8/12/12 - 10:05AM
....So I went to the Evolution Contest on Friday night, to see how it was ran and so my daughter could audition for it. There were only 5 that showed up to qualify. I don't get it! This event starts early so it does not interfere with any regular karaoke one might do and the venue and sound here is phenominal. And I do know the judges, and I will vouch for them that they will pick the most qualified not the favorite or most popular. You have one more chance to qualify, Friday, August 24th. Visit the website for more information.
25. Ozz @ Fiesta's on Friday 8/10/12 said on 8/12/12 - 10:08AM
Got there about 10:30, the place was packed and rockin....like it is most of the times, and there is a reason for that, Toby and Zack put on one hell of a show. Full of energy, just let your hair down kind of place. Mostly rock but there crowd there appreciates anything and is very responsive. Carlita is the best, this woman can run circles around most servers half her age. See you again soon.
26. Ozz @ Retro on 8/15 said on 8/21/12 - 09:31AM
Popped in for a bit and Jorge De Fly was at the soundboard making it sound great. Rocked em with Fairies Wear Boots, ran into some new friends and good ole friends....great service, great time...see you soon
27. Ozz @ Elliotts on 8/15 said on 8/21/12 - 09:34AM
It was a little slower than usual tonight but still had about 15 singers. Tommy always puts on a good show. They have a new server, not only cute but good. Sang Fairies Wear Boots and I Don't Know. See you soon!
28. Ozz @ Grahams on 8/16 said on 8/21/12 - 02:25PM
On THursday night we held the Random Member drawing at Graham Central Station. I really love the this venue, the stage and lights are great, the sound is real good and Sarah is a little firecracker of a KJ. They still use discs but will be going digital very soon and then I would have to say this will be the place to be on a Thursday night in the hieghts.
29. Ozz @ The Bird on Friday 8/17 said on 8/21/12 - 04:43PM
So they say the thirds times a charm and that'll do it for The Bird...The first time I went there, it was wierd, the next time was on a Saturday because I called and they said they had karaoke on Saturday, they did not, this time, we got there at 9....at 9:45 they were still trying to get set up. The bartender did not know what she was doing either. I don't ever see me going back here, nor would I recommend it, but it does seem to be a pretty regular nieghboorhood bar.
30. Ozz @ Lucky Lanes on Friday 8/17 said on 8/21/12 - 04:45PM
This time was a million times better than the last time I came here. It was busy but not crazy like it was last time. Allen def had a better grip on it and the place was hoppin. The sound was great and the service was good. Had a great time, couldn't stay long, but to be honest I wish we could have. Looking forward to the Party Bus!
31. Ozz @ Fiesta's Saturday 8-18-12 said on 8/21/12 - 05:14PM
As usual it was hoping and great. Toby and Zack know how to bring energy to the crowd. I think alot of KJ's should take lessons from Toby on how to get the crowd involved and excited. There is only one other bar in the city that even comes close. We did the Who-What-Where drawing and Nikki won a $25 gift certificate to 3dfx.
32. disconanny said on 8/22/12 - 05:06AM
fiesta's was awesome saturday. met some new friends thanks to OZZ and am looking forward to returning.
33. Ozz @ Evolution on Sunday 8/19 said on 8/23/12 - 11:19AM
Had an amazing night at Evolution. Got there about 7:30. There was only about 7 singers, so I got a couple of songs in before the crowd hit at 9, it was busy till about 11, then it started to slow down. It's kinda like hanging out in your living room with your friends and family here. Lenore is awesome and the sound is really awesome. See you Sunday for the party bus give away!
34. Ozz @ Ed's Pub @ Liesure Bowl on 8/23/12 said on 9/2/12 - 04:48PM
So Ticia and I began our night at Ed's Pub. We were actually excited to check out thier new digital system. It was like everyone elses. 150,000 songs on the computer. I think they had the same speakers. Guess what, they still can't turn the music up. I was actually singing louder than the music without the mic. My system in my living room is louder. Ed's if you want to play in the karaoke community, you're gonna have play like the others, karaoke is not quite. The KJ is energetic and nice, the bartender is the same, the crowd was good.
35. Ozz @ Knuckleheads on 8/23/12 said on 9/2/12 - 04:54PM
So Ticia and I pulled up and met DJ Speed racer there. Fito from Rock Star Karaoke had it jammin....Love his set up, lights, stage, smoke, you know me. If you remember last time I was here, I had the worst service ever. I did not see the same waitress although this one wasn't much better, she did not notice us until the manager told her to. We put our songs in.....we rocked the hell out of them! You have to check out the videos, if you go to the members corner and click on Ticia and Speeds pictures you can watch. The sound was great, the crowd was awesome....I would recomend Knuckleheads to the ones who like it loud, hard and fast. Go to the bar for service though.
36. Ozz @ The Damn Bar on 8/23/12 said on 9/2/12 - 04:57PM
Then Ticia and I hit The Damn Bar....yeah it's a drive but once a month it's worth it for me, and if you live in Rio, it's really not bad. It's usually a younger crowd, they don't have table service and they are quick at the bar, and Kyle the owner....he's very cool. Big Worm is the KJ and he is laid back on it. He is great at getting you and up to sing, his sound is great and usually the rotation isn't real long, there are always more people than singers here.
37. Ozz-Recording at The SOCH 8/28/12 said on 9/3/12 - 08:08AM
This was an amazing night of singers. That could be all that needed to be said on this night. This was the night we recorded 7 singers for thier chance to be on the only live karaoke talk show out of LA Been There Sung That. This was wihtout a doubt the perfect venue for this recording. The sound, lights and effects were phenominal. KJ Kammo has this one nailed. Tune in to Been There Sung That 9-5 at 9pm MDT to watch the show. After the show, the videos will be posted and linked from the singers profiles in the Members Corners.
38. Ozz @ Hollywood Casino 8/31 said on 9/3/12 - 09:19AM
40 foot stage, lights, concert sound......awesome as always! Well worth the trip, dispite the fact tha Lucky 66 Lanes cancelled the Party Bus at the last minute because the owner doesn't like casinos, the show still went on. Not as busy as usual but that did not stop us from having a great time. Now that the concert is over, school is back in session and the contests are done, September 21st will be a record turnout I have no doubt......can't wait!
39. Ozz @ Sandia Casino 9/4/12 said on 9/5/12 - 11:20AM
After I had my $2 green chilli cheesesburger and free soda...I proceeded to the lounge of karaoke (they have a name for it but I forgot), put my song in, waited for about 8 singers and then I sang...Wish You Were Here, then waited again and sang I Don't Know....I like the fact that Byron moved the monitor behind me and adjusted it, it was definatly easier to sing. They have installed a 25 foot screen for Monday night football from what I understand will soon have the lyrics on it. The sound was great, the crowd was a little slower than normal, but I have found that to be true everywhere lately.
40. Ozz @ The Soch 9/4/12 said on 9/5/12 - 11:22AM
So I grabbed Laticia and headed to The Soch. It was slower than usual as well. It was still a hight energy crowd and had about 15-20 singers. Dr Feelgood and Photograph sounded real good in there let me tell you! Kammo was right on the money tonight! The Soch is a private club, but you can sign in under Kammo as a guest, every Tuesday starting at 9.
41. Ozz @ Knuckleheads 9/13 said on 9/22/12 - 07:48AM
So I headed up to Knuckleheads on the westside...I just went to the bar to get my drink (after the last 3 times of not so good service on the floor) I sat at the table with my friends Nikki and Michael who met me there, turned in my song to Fito....Everytime I go there the karaoke gets better and better, the sound, the lights, the fog, the stage....the crowd is very responsive especially to rock music.
42. Ozz @ The Damn Bar on 9/13 said on 9/22/12 - 07:53AM
Yes it's a drive....but really it's not that bad. It's high speed most of the way there. I get there in about 15 minutes from Knuckleheads. On Unser, just North of Southern, on top of the hill with a view of the city lights, it's awesome. Big Worm is really an awesome KJ, he knows his sound has a huge selection....pretty much a younger crowd, not real responsive, country, some R&B, alternative rock...only bartender service but always quick.
43. Ozz @ Desert Greens on 9-14 said on 9/22/12 - 11:08AM
What can I say...one of my "Favorite-Eight" places to be...You know how it feels when you walk into a bar and everyone knows you? Thats how the Greens are. Tommy Hurikkane does an awesome job, the crowd is always responsive to anything you sing, very much regulars with a very warm atmosphere. Sound, food and service is great....what else can you say. Every Friday from 7:30-11ish....
44. Ozz @ Slate Street on 9-14 said on 9/22/12 - 11:12AM
Got to Slate Street about 10....it was kinda slow night, probably because of the fair...it tends to do that to restuarants and bars...Got to sing 4 songs so that was cool, Ben-Jammin is there every Thur, Fri and Sat night from 9-1....The crowd is usually not a very responsive one but the Sound and service is good...
45. Ozz @ Evolution/Peoples Choice Awards on 9/16/12 said on 9/22/12 - 02:33PM
What an awesome night of awards. Evolution was packed, full of supporters for the 3rd quarter Peoples Choice Awards for the best KJ, KJ Company and Venue. The evening went very smooth and had a great night of karaoke before and after. Evolution is one of my favorite places to go. No table service but quick at the bar, and Lenore does an awesome job on the sound. They have karaoke on Sundays and Wednesdays from 7:00-close and on Mondays following comedy at approximatly 10:30pm.
46. Ozz @ Sunset Grill on 9-19 said on 9/22/12 - 03:28PM
What can say....god ole Charles...been around a long time, doesn't really like to be in the lights...kind does his thing and is happy with it. Sunset Grill has never been busy when I am there...if you are looking for a place with great sound, quick service and a place to get some practice on, this is it. They do this on Wednesdays and Thursdays...not sure what time they start, for some reason I wanna say 8...When I first started karaoke it was with Charles at The Brio 8 years ago.
47. Ozz @ Maloneys on 9-19 said on 9/22/12 - 03:31PM
Fricken Fair! Yeah it was pretty slow, just like everywhere else. But we all made the best of it. The singers that were there were awesome, and of course DJ Speed Racer knows how to make it sound totally awesome. I have always used bar service there and they always remember my name, but not my drink....Wednesdays from 9:30-1:30am....
48. Ozz @ Hollywood Casino 0n 9-21 said on 9/24/12 - 07:36AM
It was another awesome night at Hollywood Casino. The stage was all lite up with lights, the concert sound was awesome, the Frito Pie was yummy and the service at the cash bar was quick and easy. It was slow, hopefully the next show on October 19th will be busier. I interviewed Dave and Audra from Howling Coyote, it will air on October 3rd....be sure to tune in on line at BEEN THERE SUNG THAT .com
49. Ozz @ The Effingbar on 9-22 said on 9/24/12 - 07:39AM
Gonna have to give high 9's all the way across the board on this one. Famous Amos, owner of Kan U Karaoke was voted the best company the 2nd quarter of 2012, then the Effingbar was voted the best venue for the 3rd quarter. There were 27 singers and the bar was at capacity. What a great night to be there and sing. Here's the best part. There were only 3 servers and 2 bar tenders. I did not see even one empty glass all night. These servers ran circles around any server I have ever seen. Karaoke ever Thursday and Saturday night from 9-1....
50. Ozz @ Louie's on 9-22 said on 9/24/12 - 07:42AM
I got there about midnight. It was pretty busy, they had a great crowd. I have never been dissappointed at Louie's. Very good service, sound is very good and Tommy...well you know, what a great guy! Only got to sing one song, but it was a blast! Karaoke every Saturday night from 9-1....Tommy will be on BEEN THERE SUNG THAT dot com on Wednesday, September 26th at 9pm....make sure you tune in!

LIVE MIC MAKING MAJOR CHANGES!
Teles Edwell has been a KJ in Albuquerque as long as I can remember. I first met him at Sneakerz, he KJ'd for Boop for many many years between Sneakerz and Spectators. After a falling out with Boop he began his own business with a partner. First at Spectators, then Geckos, then Post 99 and 49 and his latest, Ned's. His crew included Felicia aka Live Mic 2 and Zero who was at Geckos and is no longer. His scheduled has changed a bit so here it is: Teles: Spectators on Friday's. Post 99 every other Wednesday. Ned's every Wednesday. He is need of another KJ for every other Wednesday, if you are interested contact him through Call Me Ozz.   Felicia, aka LIVE MIC 2 can be found at Post 49 on Wednesdays, Geckos on Tuesday's and Spectators on Saturday's.
Ed's is no more!
We have always known Ed's to be at Leisure Bowl. Well no more. Leisure Bowl was purchased by Holiday Bowl last year and they have been making a lot of changes over there. They have already installed new score machines, now they are working on the bar. It is now called Mr Z's @ Skidz Entertainment Center. They have upgraded their song selection and their sound system. You can find karaoke there 7 nights a week and comedy every other Sunday.
ED SOL HEADS TO ISLETA!!!!
If you don't know who Ed Sol is, you should really find out! Ed was the WORLD KARAOKE CHAMPION in 2010 and holds more local wins than any other singer I know. Not to mention the lead singer of BLUE SOL. He is also the KJ at Silva Lanes on some week nights. On Thursday, February 6th he will be launching solo at Isleta Casino. Say hello to him from 7:30-11:30pm.
ANOTHER NEW ONE AT SILVA LANES
OK Silva Lanes, you're driving us all nuts! So I went into Silva Lanes last Friday night, expecting to see the new girl Stephanie, but she is gone and now it's Corey, aka DJ Sexykinda. He is there on Friday and Saturday's. Silva Lanes has karaoke every night of the week.
SNEAKERZ-BANDS EVERY OTHER SATURDAY
You may remember Sneakerz as Senior Buckets. It was the place to go for live bands. Boop Karaoke has held Sneakerz on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as long as I can remember, in fact Ozz was birthed there in 2008 with Becca Calloway. There used to be a huge karaoke crowd on Saturday nights, until they started doing UFC fights on Saturday nights. I watched the Saturday crowd die out. They couldn't understand why the karaoke community wouldn't come to the fight and then sing, or just wait till the fight was over! They have really struggled to regain Saturday nights with no avail, with the Saturday night competition, it would be hard, if not impossible. Beginning in February, they will be alternating karaoke on Saturday nights with live bands. Call before you go.
GALACTIC KARAOKE AT HOLIDAY BOWL
Did you know about this? I just found out! Holiday Bowl has Galactic Bowling and Karaoke on Thursday nights! They start when galactic bowling starts, about 9 or 10 and the go till they close! You sing from the lane you are bowing on! I gotta check this out, karaoke and bowling are my favorite things to do!
Almost everything I do on this site is because it is what singers ask for. It all started with the BARLEY ROOM KARAOKE CONTEST two and a half years ago. I started it as a place to post the results of the contest. I had met a lot of people during that time. After the contest I was gonna kill the site, but I was getting a lot of texts and calls from people wanting to know where to go sing. So I decided to put together a list of all the venues in the city that did karaoke on what night. I would also get things like, what songs do you sing? So I created my SONG LIST AND SET PAGE. I would get asked how I got into this, that’s when the WHO IS OZZ PAGE came along. Then I thought it would be cool to have a MEMBER’S CORNER. From there it just kept growing to what it is today.

I would always get asked. How is karaoke at so n so? Or what do you think of this place, or that place? What is your favorite place? So I began writing reviews after ever night that I went out. But that did not send the point across, so I began the report card. This was a black and white number system grading every KJ and Venue on the quality of sound, crowd, service and the KJ themselves. Everyone I would talk to about the results agreed with my observation 100%. Every time a KJ or Venue got a great score and review they loved me to death, but if they didn’t they would complain and feel that I was being biased or just didn’t like them. It is imperative for me to have the singers, the KJ’s and the venues all on my side in order for this to be effective.

I stopped doing the reviews once I built the VENUES PROFILE page. Here anyone can go to the venue profile and post their own comments. I personally read through them and if I ever see a comment that I feel is bogus or just trash talking I will remove it. The report card was removed and discontinued after a few KJ’s lost their jobs. I will continue to place my FAVORITE-EIGHTS in the newsletter, this has nothing to do with score or anything, it was simply my favorite stops last month, and it’s for me to know why.

I encourage all of you to put your comments in the venue profile page. I ask that even if it’s bad, keep it positive, but do be honest. Happy singing! See You Soon!

REVIEWS AND REPORTS CARDS ARE GONE!

If you are my friend on Facebook and followed Call Me Ozz as it has grown over the years, it’s no surprise to know that I am ready to take it to the next level and beyond. I did not start this website to ever become my livelihood but it is headed that way and in fact already supplements my income. There have been huge changes since it first began and I am sure there will be many more. My passion will always be karaoke make no mistake. All of the other sites here already and yet to come are things that I have always enjoyed but not nearly as much as karaoke.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been working very diligently on setting up the site for sponsorships, and that project is now complete. I am now actively looking for an investor or a silent partner so that I can hire an administrative assistant and an account rep. It takes about 20-30 per week just keep this thing accurate with information, my time is getting squeezed and having an admin assistant would help free that up as well as an account rep to handle and manage the clients. This would give the time I need to find the directors to expand the rest of the sites which are temporary pages at this time. It feels so awesome to think that by the end of this year, Call Me Ozz could realistically employ 18 people. The goal for 2015 would then be to go nationwide.

If you, or if you know someone who might be interested in becoming my silent partner or an investor, please feel free to CONTACT ME. I look forward to a very prosperous 2014 with you all!
READY TO EXPLODE!
DAD'S DINER IS NO MORE :(
Dad's Diner in Moriarty is closing it's doors. This is a very sad one to see go. This was a family owned and operated local restaurant that really catered to the families. They had family karaoke on Thursday nights and adult karaoke on Friday nights. This was on the Call Me Ozz Van run. Very sad to see it go.

Leo's NIghtclub in the North Valley, on the corner of Candelaria and 12th Street has 3 clubs in and has karaoke in each club a different night of the week. You can find Allan Estrada (used to be at Lucky Lanes) in Leo's on Monday's, in the Speakeasy Lounge on Thursday's and in the $2 Bar n Friday's.
Graham Central Station is now 18-21 on Thursday nights. There is a $6 cover for them and the Country Bar and the Karaoke Bar are open. This is an idea I had thought of some time ago. Glad to see Graham is doing this.
