This is how websites get to the top of their listings, and then when someone is looking for a place to sing from out of town, they will most likely find us. Also if you know of any businesses that would like to help support the site financially we have ads for as low as $10 per month, or they can sponsor with gift certificates to make singing in Albuquerque so much more fun and interesting.
There are some venues I can't get to every month and therefore are not reported on the report card or the review page. These are Boop, Moriarty and Ten Pins. If you would like to do this let us know, just use the "Contact Us" form to the left.

CMO GOES NORTH-COWGIRL BBQ & KARAOKE
Last Monday I paid a visit to a Santa Fe karaoke venue that I have not been to in about 5 years....it hasn't changed a bit. Cowgirls has karaoke every Monday night from 8-Midnight and it get's busy. The crowd is of the typical Santa Fe downtown crowd.We have also added a Santa Fe section to the Find A Place to sing page. CLICK HERE to check it out.
HARD ROCK GONE-ISLETA BACK-SO IS KARAOKE!
With all the rules Hard Rock put in place it was no fun to do karaoke there, hence it was gone because no one would come. Isleta has brought it back and you can find KJ DraZtik taking it over from Andrew from Star Karaoke, every Tuesday night from 9pm-1am.
FOX N HOUND KILLED KARAOKE...AGAIN
Fox N Hound sent a corporate memo to Albuquerque on the day they were supposed to have karaoke and cancelled it, again. I believe this is the third time. I think this place hold the record for starting and cancelling more times than any other venue, there have been 4 companies that I know of. Hopefully not again.
MALARKY'S BRINGS BACK KARAOKE ON MONDAYS
A while back, Malarky's cancelled karaoke on Monday's with Broken Eardrumz. Last week they brought it back with KJ DraZtik. She is there every Monday from 9pm-Close.
HOOLIGANS HANGS IT UP
Hooligans has cancelled karaoke on Tuesday's and Friday's in preparations for it's new awakening. According to Steve the owner, Hooligans will completely undergo a renovation and re-open as a dance club with DJ Music next year.
SIDELINES ON THURSDAYS
It's been a bit of confusion at Sidelines lately as to when they have karaoke and when they don't, but I do believe we have it figured out. It's on Mondays and Tuesdays with KJ Koz and on Thursdays with Stew Dizzle.
THERE'S A NEW KID IN TOWN...AT FIESTA'S
Last Friday Zack, the Z portion of TnZ Karaoke resigned from Fiesta's. A new guy from New York, Matt, owner of Musicology has taken their place. He can be found there every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm-1am.
YES, NO MAYBE SO? SPEAKEASY ON THURSDAYS
Another on of KJ Speed Racer's venues, Louie's Pub on Saturday's will now be handled by KJ Stew Dizzle. They have karaoke on Thursday's and Saturday's from 9-1am.
JACK IS BACK AT TEN PINS
Jack, used to be at Ten Pins, then it was Charles, now it's Jack again. Ten Pins has karaoke in their lounge from 9-close on Saturday nights.
NED'S ADDS KAROKE ON THURSDAYS!
Monday's weren't working out for Ned's so they are giving Thursday's a try. There are more karaoke gigs on Thursday than any other night of the week. However, there are none in this part of town. Join KJ Zero from Live Mic every Thursday from 9-1am at the new Ned's on San Mateo.
I have been in retreat for the last month getting some much needed rest and things done on the website such as temporary spider sites and getting all the venues, KJ’s and members current and up to date. The retreat will be over on October 22nd. Ironically enough that is the same day as the birth date of Call Me Ozz Dot Net. Also, Call Me Ozz has acquired 2 tickets to give away for the Pat Benatar concert on November 19th.
What does all this mean? It means that on Tuesday, October 22nd, there will be a birthday bash at Sidelines Sports Bar from 9-11 to celebrate the 2 year birthday of Call Me Ozz Dot Net, and will be the first official night back out for me since September and will be the first night raffle tickets will be given out for the Pat Benatar give away.

A couple of weeks ago football season began and karaoke got pushed aside. This is nothing new, but we now live in different times and with 32 venues hosting karaoke every week, competition for singers is stiff. I have found some venues just don’t get it. They think people that go out to sing on a regular basis will sit and wait for a game to finish then singing. There might be a few here and there that are ok with that, but I have found for the most part this is not true. What I actually see more often is that they will go to another venue that starts at the time they say it does, and when they find a comfortable place, and then start making friends there, they never leave, they never come back.
I used to go to Sneakerz every Saturday night, they had a really good regular crowd, and then they started doing the UFC fights and not starting till after 11. I simply found other places to go and so did many others. I have never seen the same size crowds ever since, but I do see those singers everywhere else.
I understand that football and other sporting events bring out the big crowds for the NIGHT, or the season, however karaoke is year round and those venues that have never delayed karaoke are the ones that I see are the most successful. I can watch a football games, UFC, or basketball without sound and know exactly what’s going on.
I have put up a blog in the SINGERS FORUM to get your two cents on this subject, please chime in. Also, I will be making a note on the FIND A PLACE TO SING TONIGHT page, in the courtesy listings noting venues that typically delay karaoke for sporting events so that if there is a sporting event going on YOU don’t waste YOUR time, money and gas going to a venue advertising karaoke yet it’s being delayed or cancelled for a more important event for the venue.
I got some backlash for taking this stance, in that, some KJ’s may lose venues because people will stop coming. I’m sorry, my dedication is first to the singers, and maybe if a venue feels the loss of year round income it will teach them a lesson.

LEO'S ADD KARAOKE ON MONDAYS!
Thursday's weren't working out at The Speakeasy Lounge inside Leo's so he decided to give Monday's a try. KJ Allen used to be at Lucky 66 Lanes, he is now at Leo's on Monday nights from 9-close.
TOBYRIFFIC HELPING FITO
Tobyriffic is helping Fito Garza out from Rock Star Karaoke over at Elliotts on Thursday nights from 7:30pm-Midnight. Fito is the bass player for the long time local band Shit Happens, he has a great sound system and a great ear for sound. Elliotts is on Corrales Road and Alameda.
KARAOKE CONTEST TO BEGIN AT GECKOS
A benefit karaoke contest is to begin at Geckos on November 9th with KJ Zero from Live Mic Entertainment. There will be a $5 entry fee and proceeds will go to benefit Christopher Fletcher and family. For more information call (505)-463-4081.
KIDD SIXX IS OUT-ED SOL IS IN
Kidd Sixx has been the KJ at Silva Lanes on Fridays and Saturdays as long as I can remember, but they have made the move to replace him with Ed Sol. However, Ed cannot work many Friday and Saturdays due to his band Blue Sol, so you will most likely find him during the week and Gina or Mariah on the weekends.
