Best Venue&KJ Contest-People's Choice
THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012
The People’s Choice Awards were designed, created and sponsored by Ozz to let the Albuquerque Karaoke Community decide who is the best KJ, KJ Company and Venue. The original idea was to have 5 people who visit a lot of venues on a regular basis nominate the best KJ’s, KJ Companies and Venues and create a list of the top 5 KJ’s, top 3 Companies and the top 10 venues, kind of like the Grammy’s, and then open the polls to the public to allow them to make the final decision. There was to be a voting every quarter, and then in December have a vote for the winners of each category to determine the best of 2012. The first quarter was done just like that.
However, some fellow karaokeans felt this was bias and that some really good, KJ’s, Companies and Venues got left out. So, versus doing the next three quarters through nominations, the next three will contain every known KJ, KJ Company and Venue.
The winners of the first quarter received a $50 Advertising Credit on callmeozz.net, a $25 gift certificate for 3DFX in Coronado Mall to have a custom Shirt, Jacket, Banner or Windows Graphics made (that’s who makes the Ozz custom shirts), an award plaquered in a frame for display and the Best KJ also gets a Gold Microphone Trophy to proudly display. We are planning to have bigger and better sponsors as the contest continues throughout the year and especially big for The Grand Finale.
The next three quarters and the finale shall go as such:
If you win a category in a quarter you are out until the Grand Finale in December.
During Ozz’s rounds prior to the voting window, Ozz or a representative will drop by the venues giving them the “voting package” of the details along with “vote for me cards”. You can download them here and print off as many as you like.
Every known KJ, KJ Company and Venue will be on the ballot for voting. Known means known to Ozz 48 hours prior to the opening of the polls. It is the responsibility of the KJ, KJ Company, Venue and or fans of them to make sure Ozz knows about them prior to the opening of the ballots. You must be a member of www.callmeozz.net to vote.
Once the polls are opened, they will be open for 14 days. Once they close and the ballots are tallied and the winners are determined, a location of announcement will be announced.
If Ozz notices "vote throw" the second runner ups will recieve the 1st place (For example, a large number of votes come in with all the exact same votes)
The media will be informed of this event.
The schedule shall be as follows:
FIRST QUARTER:
All nominees will be notified by February 7th, 2012
Voting polls open at midnight on February 15th and close at midnight on February 29th.
Results will be tallied on Thursday March 1st and location will be announced for the awards ceremony. This will be determined and arranged so that the winners can be present.
SECOND QUARTER:
All nominees will be notified by April 17th, 2012
Voting polls open at midnight on April 24th and close at midnight on May 7th.
Results will be tallied on May 8th and location will be announced for the awards ceremony. This will be determined and arranged so that the winners can be present. The awards ceremony will be between May 10-16th.
THIRD QUARTER:
All nominees will be notified by August 1st, 2012
Voting polls open at midnight on August 7th and close at midnight on August 21st.
Results will be tallied on August 22nd and location will be announced for the awards ceremony. This will be determined and arranged so that the winners can be present. The awards ceremony will be held on September 16th....8pm.....Evolution Night Club
FOURTH QUARTER:
All nominees will be notified by October 17th, 2012
Voting polls open at midnight on October 24th and close at midnight on November 6th.
Results will be tallied on November 7th and location will be announced for the awards ceremony. This will be determined and arranged so that the winners can be present. The awards ceremony will be held on November 25th....8pm....Evolution Night Club.
THE GRAND FINALE:
All nominees will be notified by November 26th, 2012
Voting polls open at midnight on November 28th and close at 11:59pm on December 18th.
All potential KJ's, Venues and Companies must be active at the time of the awards cerimony.
Results will be tallied on December 20th and location will be announced for the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will be held on January 6th....8pm....Evolution Night Club.
